Our talented teachers create beautiful chalkboard drawings to introduce a new learning block and to mark the change in the seasons. These intentional, artistic touches bring another dimension to Waldorf education.

🕯️✨SWS lit up the town on Saturday with our annual Lantern Walk, as students and their families participated in this cherished tradition. In quiet reverence, students carried their beautifully hand-crafted lanterns along a darkened path, creating a magical scene and reminding us of the inner light we carry, even during the darkest seasons.

After the walk, everyone came together to sing and celebrate the festival’s spirit in a warm and joyful gathering.

A heartfelt thank you to our Parent Guild, staff, and everyone who contributed to making this event so special. ✨

E tu, Brute? 📜

At SWS, learning is more than facts and figures—it’s an extraordinary journey that brings history to life. Our sixth graders continued their exploration of Julius Caesar and Ancient Rome in a way that captured their imaginations and sparked a love for learning. Mrs. McIntyre, our sixth-grade teacher, brought the drama of ancient history alive by recounting Caesar’s fateful assassination and sharing a powerful excerpt from Shakespeare’s “Julius Caesar.” The room was filled with awe as students connected literature and history in real time.

The creativity didn’t stop there! Students applied their knowledge artistically by putting the finishing touches on their stunning drawings of the Roman Forum and detailed maps of Italy. These hands-on projects reflect what makes SWS truly extraordinary: a blend of creativity, curiosity, and deep engagement in every subject.

At Susquehanna Waldorf School, learning goes far beyond the classroom walls—it’s rooted in connection to nature. We’re fortunate to be just a short walk from the beautiful Susquehanna River, where our students immerse themselves in hands-on learning and the wonders of nature.

Whether creating intricate mud sculptures, identifying native plants, or marveling at the animal friends they encounter, our students thrive in this outdoor classroom. These riverside adventures also provide a much-needed out-breath, helping students regulate, reflect, and integrate their experiences.

This blend of nature, exploration, and holistic learning is part of what makes SWS so special. We truly love being the “school by the river.” 🏞️

Our students at SWS have been joyfully building skills, learning songs, and mastering movement exercises. Their hard work shone brightly at our recent Harvest Assembly 🍂.

Each grade confidently stepped up to share their accomplishments, delighting parents and classmates with:
🌟 Jump rope demonstrations
🌟 Poetry recitations in Mandarin
🌟 Songs sung in Spanish
🌟 A creative musical Physics presentation

While their dedication and progress were evident, the true highlight was the joy of learning radiating from every performance.
